The emergency team starts from scratch. They repeat an ECG and blood tests, call the family for the medication name, and treat carefully because nobody knows whether he has any drug allergies.

- Identity. At registration, the patient's ABHA number is scanned. The Master Patient Index links this visit to his earlier records at two other facilities.
- Consent. Emergency-access rules defined by the programme allow a time-limited view of critical data. The access is logged and the patient is notified.
