What the patient sees

A notification arrives: "Specialist clinic requests your lab reports and prescriptions from the last 12 months for a consultation. Access for 7 days."

The patient can:

  • Approve the request as asked
  • Limit it — for example, lab reports only, or 3 days instead of 7
  • Decline it
  • Revoke access later, at any time

Behind the scenes

Every approval creates a consent artefact recording the purpose, the requester, the data types and the time window. The exchange checks this artefact before releasing any record, and logs each access so the patient can review who viewed what.
